A Red Deer motorcyclist is facing multiple charges after allegedly traveling at more than double the posted speed limit and fleeing from police in central Alberta. The incident occurred on June 29, 2026, according to RCMP.

Details of the Incident

RCMP officers attempted to stop a motorcycle on Highway 2 near Red Deer after observing it traveling at a high rate of speed. The motorcyclist allegedly refused to pull over and continued at speeds exceeding 200 km/h in a 100 km/h zone, according to police. The pursuit lasted approximately 10 minutes before the rider was stopped near Gasoline Alley.

Charges Filed

The 32-year-old male rider was arrested and charged with dangerous driving, flight from police, and speeding. He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Red Deer Provincial Court on August 10, 2026. RCMP urge anyone with information to contact Red Deer RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
