Trump Celebrates George Conway's Primary Loss, Calls Him 'Husband From Hell'
Trump Celebrates George Conway's Primary Loss

President Donald Trump on Tuesday celebrated the primary election loss of George Conway, the onetime conservative attorney who was hoping to run for Congress as a Democrat. “Wow, Mr. Kellyanne Conway, a Trump Deranged Loser at the highest level, is getting absolutely CRUSHED in the Primaries tonight,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Background on the Conways

Conway’s former wife, Kellyanne Conway, ran Trump’s 2016 campaign and served in the White House during his first term. Despite their marriage at the time, George Conway frequently criticized Trump online and in TV interviews, leading Trump to dub him the “husband from hell.” The Conways divorced in 2023 after 22 years of marriage.

Trump's Additional Remarks

Trump took another dig at that relationship in the rest of his Tuesday night post: “He’ll end up at about 5% of the vote in a rather weak field of young and aggressive Communists. No wonder his ‘husband’ dumped him like a dog! This is a truly unattractive person, both inside and out. Have a nice life, George! President DJT”

Conway's Campaign and Primary Results

Conway, who campaigned in part on a promise to impeach Trump and even send him to prison, is currently in a distant fifth place in the primary for the New York 12th congressional district, which State Assemblyman Micah Lasher is projected to win. That seat is currently held by Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.), who is retiring.
