Windsor police have surrounded a residence in the 300 block of McEwan Avenue on Thursday morning, where they believe a suspect armed with a butcher knife is located.
Authorities are urging the public to avoid the area on the city's west side until further notice. Officers began their search earlier in the morning for a man described as wearing a black hoodie, black pants, and black shoes. Police believe he is carrying a butcher knife.
Police warn the public not to approach the suspect and to call 911 immediately if they see him. A heavy police presence is visible on McEwan Avenue as officers work to safely extract the man from the residence.
