Two Women Hit by Vehicle in North Sydney Parking Lot

Two women were hit by a vehicle in the parking lot of a grocery store in North Sydney, N.S., on Wednesday morning. Cape Breton Regional Police responded to the incident at approximately 10:30 a.m. at the Sobeys store on King Street.

Injuries and Response

One woman suffered serious injuries and was transported to hospital, while the other sustained minor injuries. Police said the driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. The cause of the crash is under investigation, but no charges have been laid at this time.

“Our officers are on scene and working to determine the circumstances that led to this collision,” said Cape Breton Regional Police spokesperson Const. Gary Fraser. “We urge anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward.”

Ongoing Investigation

The parking lot was partially closed for several hours as police gathered evidence and spoke with witnesses. The store remained open during the investigation. Police have not released the names of the victims or the driver. The investigation is ongoing.
