The Toronto Humane Society is making a heartfelt appeal to find a permanent, loving home for a special pair of feline companions. Milo and Sky, two bonded 10-year-old male cats, are hoping to spend their golden years together in a peaceful household.
An Odd Couple with Complementary Personalities
Described as an "odd couple," Milo and Sky have distinct personalities that balance each other out. According to Lucas Solowey, a spokesperson for the Toronto Humane Society, Milo is the more curious and initially shy of the two. With gentle encouragement, his affectionate nature emerges, and he enjoys chin rubs, head pets, and playing with wand toys.
His companion, Sky, presents a more reserved demeanor. Sky is thoughtful and prefers to observe his surroundings before engaging. He has a playful side that comes out for catnip or treats and is learning to enjoy being petted more. Solowey confirms that both cats are ultimately affectionate and offer gentle companionship.
A Long Wait for the Perfect Match
The duo has been in the care of the Toronto Humane Society since May 2025, after being surrendered by their previous guardians due to a change in living arrangements. They have spent time in foster homes while waiting for the right family to come along.
The shelter emphasizes that the most critical requirement for their adoption is that they must stay together. They are reported to be good with children and may potentially get along with other pets, including dogs, given a slow and proper introduction process.
Health and a Sweet Adoption Deal
Despite their senior status—cats typically live 13-17 years—both Milo and Sky are in good health. To encourage their adoption as a pair, the Toronto Humane Society is waiving the fee for the second cat. This means a loving adopter can welcome both cats into their home for a single adoption fee of $225.
"They would thrive in a peaceful home with someone who understands love can grow slowly," Solowey said, adding that in return, the cats offer "quiet moments and the reward of watching two sweet cats continue to blossom together." The society is open to adopters in both urban and rural settings, provided the cats have a quiet space to share and enjoy.
Interested individuals can begin the adoption process by visiting the Toronto Humane Society website at www.torontohumanesociety.com. In related good news, Lvle, a three-year-old mixed-breed dog featured in a previous adoption column in November, has since found a home.
