A male driver has died after his vehicle crashed into a parked truck on Monday evening in Etobicoke. Toronto Police reported that officers and paramedics responded to the collision around 6:30 p.m. in the Shorncliffe and Bramshott Roads area. The driver of the vehicle that struck the parked truck was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police confirmed that no other injuries were reported, and there was no one else in either vehicle at the time of the crash. A police spokesperson stated that the investigation is ongoing and advised motorists to expect traffic delays in the area.
TTC bus collision injures 13 people
Earlier on Monday, two TTC buses collided in York just before 3 p.m. in the Weston Road and Lawrence Avenue West area. Paramedics reported that 13 people were hospitalized with minor injuries, including a 16-year-old and a dozen adults, all suffering non-life-threatening injuries. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and a police spokesperson said no charges have been laid at this time.
Youth critically injured in Hamilton
In a separate incident, Hamilton Police are investigating a serious motor-vehicle collision that left a young female pedestrian with life-threatening injuries. The crash occurred around 1:45 p.m. in the Garth Street and Sabrina Boulevard area of the West Mountain. The girl was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on Garth Street and was taken to a hospital with critical injuries. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. Police are working to confirm the girl's age and identity.
