Saskatchewan RCMP have arrested a suspect following a shooting in Pelican Narrows that left one person dead and another injured. The incident prompted an alert on Monday instructing residents to stay indoors, lock their doors, and call 911 in case of emergencies.
Police responded to reports of gunfire in the northern community. Upon arrival, officers discovered two individuals with gunshot wounds. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was transported to a medical facility with serious injuries.
The suspect was taken into custody without incident. RCMP have not released the identities of the victims or the suspect, as the investigation is ongoing. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the Pelican Narrows RCMP detachment or Crime Stoppers.
