The incident occurred around 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday near the intersection of Steeles Avenue and McLaughlin Road, sending emergency crews scrambling to the scene.
According to Peel Regional Police, the male pedestrian suffered catastrophic injuries described as life-threatening. Paramedics worked frantically at the scene before rushing the victim to a Toronto-area trauma centre, where he remains in critical condition.
