The Guess Who Reunite for 2025 Canada Tour After 23-Year Hiatus
The Guess Who Reunite for 2025 Canada Tour

Canadian music history is being made as legendary rock band The Guess Who announces their highly anticipated reunion tour across Canada, marking their first performances together in 23 years. The iconic lineup featuring lead singer and keyboardist Burton Cummings and founding guitarist Randy Bachman will embark on their 'Takin' It Back' tour next spring and summer, celebrating the resolution of a lengthy legal battle over the band's name.

Historic Reunion After Legal Resolution

The tour announcement comes just over a year after Cummings and Bachman settled a trademark lawsuit with former bandmates Jim Kale and Garry Peterson. The legal dispute had persisted for nearly four decades, dating back to 1978 when Kale trademarked the band name without the knowledge or consent of other members. This settlement finally allows the principal songwriters behind the band's greatest hits to perform under The Guess Who name across North America.

Burton Cummings expressed his excitement about the upcoming tour, stating: "Randy and I are thrilled that our songs have never gone away. That people still want to hear us perform them live. We are going to go out and honour the music."

Randy Bachman echoed the sentiment, adding: "Together we created decades of incredible songs and memories that still stand strong today. Can't wait to sing them with you all soon!"

Enduring Legacy of Canadian Rock Icons

The Guess Who emerged from Winnipeg in the 1960s and quickly became one of Canada's most successful rock exports. Between 1965 and 1975, the band achieved remarkable success with a dozen tracks cracking the U.S. Top-40, including timeless classics like "American Woman," "These Eyes," "No Time," and "Share the Land."

The band's official website describes the reunion as "a rare and meaningful full-circle return" that "longtime fans have been waiting for." The statement continues: "With their unmatched songwriting catalog and deep influence on rock music, this moment marks a rare and meaningful full-circle return that underscores just how enduring their legacy continues to be."

This reunion tour represents not just a celebration of the legal victory but a homecoming for one of Canada's most beloved musical acts, offering both longtime fans and new generations the opportunity to experience the magic of The Guess Who's iconic sound performed by the original hitmakers themselves.
