Police reported that the shooting took place at a valet area outside the casino, resulting in one person injured, though the victim was not officially identified. Officers detained two individuals at the scene. One of them, rapper Lil Tjay, whose real name is Tione Jayden Merritt, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and operating a vehicle without a valid license.
Lil Tjay's lawyer, Dawn M. Florio, stated that he did not have a gun and was not charged with any weapons-related crimes. He paid his bond and was released on Tuesday afternoon. The 24-year-old rapper, known for his sing-rapping style in New York's South Bronx scene, told reporters upon leaving jail that he was not involved in any fighting.

This incident comes more than three years after the tragic shooting death of his cousin Takeoff, another Migos member, who was killed as an innocent bystander at a Houston bowling alley in a dispute over a dice game.
Takeoff's death was part of a series of fatal shootings involving hip-hop stars in recent years, including Nipsey Hussle, Pop Smoke, PnB Rock, and Young Dolph. In response, the third Migos member, Quavo, held a summit against gun violence in 2024 to honor Takeoff and advocate for change.
