Costco Opens 10th Canadian Business Centre in East Gwillimbury, Creating 240 Jobs
Costco's 10th Business Centre Opens in East Gwillimbury

Costco Wholesale has officially launched its tenth dedicated Business Centre in Canada, marking a significant expansion of its commercial retail footprint. The new facility opened its doors on December 6, 2025, at 18182 Yonge Street in East Gwillimbury, Ontario, south of York Regional Road 19.

A Strategic Conversion and Major Job Creation

The new Business Centre represents a strategic conversion of the original Costco location in Newmarket, which recently moved to a larger property at 107 Harry Walker Parkway South. This transformed space now spans an impressive 137,000 square feet and has resulted in the creation of 240 local jobs, providing a substantial economic boost to the community.

Marc-André Bally, Senior Vice President of Western Canada and Business Centres for Costco, expressed enthusiasm about the opening. "We are thrilled to open our doors and offer this new service, which will better respond to the needs of local business owners," Bally stated. He highlighted that the Business Centre concept is already a success nationally and is expected to attract new consumers to discover Costco memberships.

Tailored for Business Needs with Unique Offerings

Unlike a traditional Costco warehouse, the Business Centre concept is specifically designed to serve companies of all sizes. More than 70 percent of the product offerings are unique to the Business Centre. The East Gwillimbury location stocks over 3,000 high-quality items targeted at restaurants, convenience stores, grocery outlets, and offices.

The product range is vast, including bulk food items, commercial kitchen equipment, cleaning supplies, office furniture, and coffee service needs. The centre also features a large cooler of nearly 9,500 square feet, a designated indoor loading area, and an on-site gas station with 12 pumps.

Opening Promotions and Logistics

To celebrate the launch, the location is running a series of opening-week promotions, including significant discounts on commercial equipment and bulk food items. Examples include $200 off a Eurodib manual meat slicer, $180 off a commercial meat grinder, and $100 off a 25 kg block of Agropur unsalted butter.

A key feature for business clients is the dedicated logistics operation. The centre operates its own fleet of 8 trucks, providing next-day delivery within a designated zone across the city. This service underscores Costco's commitment to convenience for its business members.

The centre is open to all Costco members during business-friendly hours: Monday to Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. The same inventory is available for purchase in-store or online at Costcobusinesscentre.ca.

This opening establishes the fifth Costco Business Centre in Ontario and is part of a broader national expansion plan, with more locations slated to open across Canada in the near future.
