Mink Ventures Completes Drilling at Montcalm Ni Cu Co Project in Timmins

TORONTO, March 09, 2026 – Mink Ventures Corporation (TSXV:MINK) has announced the completion of a significant drilling operation at its Montcalm Ni Cu Co project located in Timmins, Ontario. The company successfully drilled a single, vertical hole measuring 549 meters deep, targeting a high-priority mineral zone within the Montcalm Gabbro Complex.

Strategic Location and Historical Context

The Montcalm project is strategically positioned adjacent to Glencore's former Montcalm Mine, which historically produced 3.93 million tonnes of ore. According to the Ontario Geological Survey (Atkinson, 2010), this ore graded at 1.25% nickel, 0.67% copper, and 0.051% cobalt, highlighting the area's rich mineral potential.

Drilling Objectives and Target Zone

The primary objective of this drill program was to test a deep-seated, high-priority target identified through 3D Borehole Induced Polarization (BHIP) technology. This target, located approximately 500 meters below the surface, also showed coincident responses from airborne VTEM, gravity, and magnetic surveys.

The BHIP target zone spans approximately 300 meters in length and 80 meters in width. Mink's drill hole successfully intersected this target area at the planned depth of 500 meters. However, the intersection revealed the presence of a diabase dyke, a narrow, linear, late intrusive feature that engulfed a small portion of the target zone.

Challenges and Future Plans

Despite the intersection, the BHIP target remains largely untested due to the diabase dyke's interference, leaving a significant portion of the 300 by 80 meter area unexplained. As a result, Mink Ventures intends to conduct a follow-up wedge drill hole from the current pilot hole to continue testing the target. The company may also perform additional down-hole geophysics to better define the target zone's extent before proceeding with wedging operations.

Additional Exploration Activities

In February, Mink Ventures also completed its drilling program at the Warren Project, where eight drill holes were executed to test the A Zone and D Zone nickel-copper-cobalt occurrences. The company is currently awaiting assay data from the laboratory and plans to release results once all data has been compiled and analyzed.

Project Details and Infrastructure

Mink Ventures Corporation is a Canadian mineral exploration company focused on critical minerals such as nickel, copper, and cobalt. The Montcalm Project covers 100 square kilometers and benefits from excellent infrastructure, including all-weather access roads and power, as well as proximity to the skilled labor and facilities of the Timmins Mining Camp. The Warren Ni Cu Co Project, spanning 1,130 hectares, is located 35 kilometers away and is also drill-ready and permitted.
