Fredonia Mining Inc. (TSXV: FRED) has completed approximately 3,500 meters of drilling at its flagship El Dorado Monserrat (EDM) Project in Santa Cruz Province, Argentina, and has begun receiving assay results from its infill-focused program. The company is also advancing a Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) and has expanded its land position to about 33,500 hectares through two strategic acquisitions.
Drilling Program and Assay Results
The ongoing diamond drilling campaign has now reached approximately 3,500 meters, with assay results starting to come in. This infill-focused program is designed to refine geological models and support resource estimation. The company plans to continue drilling as part of a broader 10,000-meter program.
Land Expansion and Exploration Strategy
Fredonia recently expanded the EDM Project through two strategic land acquisitions, increasing the total footprint to approximately 33,500 hectares. The new lands extend the company's district-scale position toward the Cerro Vanguardia mining district. While these acquisitions are not expected to impact the current PEA or ongoing drilling, they provide additional long-term exploration opportunities. The company has initiated a systematic geological review of these properties to prioritize future exploration targets.
Appointment of Gustavo Gomes as Strategic Advisor
Fredonia has appointed Gustavo “Gus” Gomes as Strategic Advisor. Gomes is a geologist and senior mining executive with over 40 years of international experience in exploration, project evaluation, mine development, construction, operations, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate leadership. His expertise will guide the company as it evaluates long-term development opportunities for the EDM Project.
CEO Commentary
“Our team remains focused on the disciplined execution of a series of complementary technical and corporate initiatives designed to systematically advance EDM while creating long-term value for our shareholders,” said Estanislao Auriemma, Chief Executive Officer of Fredonia. “The appointment of Gus reflects the continued evolution of EDM and our commitment to building the technical capabilities required for the Project’s next stage of evaluation.”
Next Steps
The company continues to advance the PEA, refine geological models, and strengthen its technical capabilities. The expanded land position and ongoing drilling program are expected to support informed development decisions in the coming months.
