A Cinnabon employee in the United States has been dismissed from her position following the circulation of a disturbing video in which she directed a racist tirade at two customers.
Video Captures Offensive Confrontation
The incident, which took place on Friday, December 5, 2025, at a Cinnabon location in the Ashwaubenon mall near Green Bay, Wisconsin, was recorded and later posted to TikTok. The video shows a white female employee using the N-word and other expletives while confronting a couple reported to be from Somalia.
In the footage, the worker openly declares "I am racist" while making obscene gestures. She tells the customers to leave the premises during the profanity-laden outburst. According to the person who posted the video, the confrontation began after she requested extra caramel on a caramel pecan cinnamon roll. The recording started when the employee began mocking the woman's hijab.
Company Responds with Termination
Cinnabon acted swiftly in response to the viral video. The company issued a statement on social media the following day, Saturday, December 6, calling the video "disturbing" and stating it does not condone such behaviour.
The statement confirmed that the franchise owner had immediately terminated the employee. It emphasized that the individual's actions did not reflect the brand's values or the welcoming environment it aims to provide for all guests.
Fallout and Community Support
The incident has sparked significant reaction online. A GoFundMe campaign was established to support the Somali Muslim couple, described as having been traumatized by the event. Meanwhile, a separate fundraising effort on GiveSendGo, which reportedly raised money for the fired worker, appears to have been taken down.
The video also ignited debate on social media platforms, with some commentators accusing those recording of instigating the incident, while others condemned the racism and Islamophobia on display.
This case highlights the immediate consequences employees can face for discriminatory conduct, especially when captured and shared on social media, and underscores ongoing discussions about racism and customer service interactions.
