Heliot Ramos homered twice and collected five RBIs, powering the San Francisco Giants to a dominant 10-1 win over the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday night at Oracle Park.
Ramos leads offensive outburst
Ramos launched a two-run homer in the fourth inning and added a three-run blast in the eighth, finishing 3-for-4 with a walk. His five RBIs matched a career high, according to the Giants.
"He's seeing the ball really well right now," Giants manager Bob Melvin said. "When he gets good pitches to hit, he's not missing them."
Giants pitching stifles Blue Jays
Giants starter Jordan Hicks allowed one run on four hits over six innings, striking out seven and walking two. The bullpen组合 of Tyler Rogers, Camilo Doval, and others held Toronto scoreless over the final three frames.
"Hicks set the tone early," Melvin added. "He gave us exactly what we needed."
Blue Jays struggle offensively
Toronto's only run came on a solo home run by Vladimir Guerrero Jr. in the first inning. The Blue Jays managed just six hits total and struck out 11 times.
"We couldn't get anything going against their pitching," Blue Jays manager John Schneider said. "They executed their game plan and we didn't have an answer."
Key moments
Ramos's first homer came off Blue Jays starter Kevin Gausman, who allowed four runs in 5.1 innings. The second homer was off reliever Trevor Richards. Matt Chapman also contributed with a solo homer for San Francisco.
The win improved the Giants' record to 48-38, while the Blue Jays fell to 44-42.
