Oilers' McDavid Ready for Game 3 After Ankle Injury

Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid is good to go for Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals after rolling his ankle in practice, the team confirmed Friday. The superstar forward participated fully in the morning skate and will play against the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday night.

McDavid's Status Confirmed

Head coach Kris Knoblauch said McDavid showed no ill effects from the ankle roll that occurred during Thursday's practice. "He's fine. He practiced today and looked like his normal self," Knoblauch told reporters. The Oilers trail the series 2-0 after dropping both games in Anaheim, with the Ducks dominating the second period in each contest.

Team Struggles in Second Period

Despite the series deficit, Knoblauch expressed confidence in his team's ability to bounce back. "We've been in tough spots before. It's about executing our game plan for 60 minutes," he said. The Oilers have been outscored 5-1 in the middle frame through the first two games, an area they aim to address in Game 3 at Rogers Place.

McDavid, who led the playoffs with 12 points entering the series, has been held to one assist so far against the Ducks. His presence on the ice provides a significant boost for Edmonton as they look to get back into the series.

Game 3 is set for Saturday at 7 p.m. MT in Edmonton.
