According to RCMP, officers responded to a call about a suspicious vehicle on a rural road near Irricana, a town of approximately 1,200 people located about 60 kilometers northeast of Calgary. Upon arrival, they encountered a male suspect who was allegedly armed. An altercation ensued, during which officers discharged their firearms, striking the suspect. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
