Mamdani's Candidates Triumph in Democratic Primaries
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has achieved significant political victories as his endorsed candidates won three crucial Democratic primary races. These candidates, who align with the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA)—the same organization Mamdani supports—defeated three Democratic Party establishment figures, including two sitting members of Congress. This marks a notable shift in the party's internal dynamics.
The Smooth Operator Persona
In an interview with ABC's Jonathan Karl, Mamdani displayed a calm, controlled, and articulate demeanor, prompting comparisons to a 'smooth operator.' Artificial intelligence defines a smooth operator as 'the charmer, the masterful strategist, the manipulator (deceiver).' According to critic Star Parker, Mamdani employs half-truths and distortions with heartfelt sincerity to seduce ill-informed voters.
Critique of Mamdani's Policies
Parker argues that Mamdani aims to transform the United States into a socialist country while still calling it America. Mamdani stated, 'What makes me proudest to be an American is the belief that equal rights are at the bedrock of our notion of what it means to be an American.' However, Parker contends that Mamdani redefines rights to suit his agenda, failing to recognize the right to property and wealth accumulation. She asserts that economically free societies, where property rights are sacred, are the most prosperous, citing biblical principles.
Stance on Israel
When asked about the DSA's abandonment of the two-state solution, Mamdani said, 'I support the State of Israel as a state with equal rights… A state that privileges one religion over the other is one I can’t tell you I support.' Parker highlights that Israel was established by a 1947 United Nations partition vote after the Holocaust, which killed 40% of the world's Jews. While Jews accepted the partition, Arabs rejected it, leading to war. Freedom House ranks Israel as the only 'free' country in the Middle East, whereas among approximately 50 Muslim nations, zero to two are ranked free. Parker questions why Mamdani, a Muslim, focuses on the one free Jewish state rather than the many unfree Muslim countries.
Call for Truth
Parker concludes by invoking George Orwell: 'In a time of deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.' She urges Americans to celebrate the nation's 250th birthday by telling the truth—that America is a free nation under God where life, liberty, and property are sacred. She emphasizes that courageously telling the truth is the main weapon against charlatans threatening the future.
