Two Teen Boys Arrested After Double Stabbing in Scarborough

Toronto police have arrested two teen boys in connection with a double stabbing that left two other teenagers injured in Scarborough on Friday, July 5, 2026. The incident occurred in the early afternoon in the area of Lawrence Avenue East and Kingston Road.

Emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 1:30 p.m. after reports of a fight involving multiple individuals. Upon arrival, officers found two male teens suffering from stab wounds. Both were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to paramedics.

Suspects Apprehended Nearby

Police say the two suspects, also teenage boys, were located a short distance from the stabbing scene and taken into custody without incident. Their identities are protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. They face charges including aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

“The investigation is ongoing, and we are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the altercation or has video footage to come forward,” said Toronto Police Service spokesperson Constable David Hopkinson.

Community Concerns

Residents in the area expressed shock at the violence involving young people. “It’s concerning to see this happening in our neighbourhood, especially with kids involved,” said local resident Maria Santos. “We need more youth programs to prevent these situations.”

The double stabbing is the latest in a series of violent incidents in Scarborough this year. According to Toronto police data, the division covering this area has seen a 12% increase in violent crime compared to the same period last year.

Both victims are expected to recover fully. The suspects are scheduled to appear in court on Saturday.
