City lifeguards are returning to Barrie's busiest beaches this month, marking the start of the summer season. Residents and visitors can expect increased safety measures and supervision at popular waterfront areas.
What to Expect
Lifeguards will be on duty at the most frequented beaches, including those along Kempenfelt Bay. They will monitor water conditions, provide first aid if needed, and enforce beach rules to ensure everyone's safety.
Beach Safety Tips
- Swim only in designated areas where lifeguards are present.
- Pay attention to warning flags and signs.
- Keep children within arm's reach at all times.
- Never swim alone or under the influence of alcohol.
The lifeguard program runs from June through Labour Day. This initiative aims to reduce drowning incidents and enhance the beach experience for all.
