Driver charged after bizarre exchange

Police say the driver, a 34-year-old Kitchener resident, was stopped for a traffic violation. When asked to provide their driver's license and vehicle keys, the individual handed over a raw potato. Officers immediately recognized the object and arrested the driver on the spot.

The driver faces charges including possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, as the potato was wrapped in aluminum foil and had a toothpick inserted through it. Police also discovered the driver's license was suspended. The accused was released on a promise to appear in court at a later date.
