Cochrane RCMP Rearrest Parolee After Canada-Wide Warrant Issued
Parolee back in custody after failing to check in

Mounties in Cochrane have successfully returned a parolee to custody after he failed to comply with the conditions of his release, triggering a Canada-wide warrant for his arrest.

Parole Breach Leads to Nationwide Manhunt

According to a news release from the Cochrane RCMP, Cameron Holloway, 28, was approved for day parole and released from custody in early December 2025. The release was coordinated through Correctional Service Canada.

However, Holloway failed to return to the designated facility as required, violating a core condition of his parole. This breach prompted authorities to issue a warrant for his arrest that was valid across all of Canada.

Coordinated Arrest with Alberta Sheriffs

Upon learning of the warrant, members of the Cochrane RCMP's Crime Reduction Unit immediately began working with the Alberta Sheriffs Fugitive Apprehension Support Team (FASST) to locate the fugitive.

"Using joint information sharing, investigators determined Holloway’s whereabouts and effected a safe and timely arrest within days of the reported breach," the RCMP stated.

The collaborative effort between the police and sheriffs led to Holloway's swift apprehension. As a direct result of his actions, his parole has been formally revoked, and he will remain in custody.

Background: Prior Charges of Kidnapping and Assault

While the RCMP release did not detail Holloway's original incarceration, court records show he faced serious prior charges. In May 2022, Holloway was charged with kidnapping and aggravated assault following a violent incident at the SAIT CTrain station in Calgary.

According to earlier news from the Calgary Police Service, the charges stemmed from a swarming and stabbing on April 22, 2022. Police alleged that six individuals, including Holloway, confined a male victim inside a platform shelter at the SAIT LRT station, refusing to let him leave.

The group then escorted the victim, later identified as Jaskaran Jhutty, to a stairwell connecting to the Jubilee Auditorium. There, he was physically assaulted and stabbed in the neck. Jhutty managed to activate an emergency help button before collapsing. He was transported to hospital in serious condition but ultimately recovered from his injuries.

It is noted that charges against two other assailants in that 2022 case were later withdrawn.

The Cochrane RCMP emphasized their ongoing commitment to public safety, stating they "continue to work closely with partner agencies to locate individuals that are unlawfully at large."
