Hamilton Police have made a significant dent in local drug trafficking operations after a coordinated bust last week resulted in the seizure of multiple kilograms of cocaine and the arrest of a 58-year-old man.

Major Drugs and Gangs Unit Executes Search Warrants

On Wednesday, November 5, 2025, investigators from the Hamilton Police Service's Major Drugs and Gangs Unit executed three simultaneous search warrants as part of an ongoing drug investigation. The warrants were carried out at a residence, a storage locker, and a business within the city.

During the searches, officers allegedly uncovered a substantial quantity of illicit substances and related materials. The seized items included 2,336 grams of powdered cocaine, 671 grams of crack cocaine, and 25 grams of a suspected cutting agent used to dilute drugs for street sales. Police also confiscated an undisclosed amount of Canadian currency believed to be the proceeds of crime.

Following the searches, investigators took Christopher Hilts into custody. The 58-year-old Hamilton resident now faces serious criminal charges.

Hilts has been charged with:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine)
  • Possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000

In an official statement, Hamilton Police emphasized their ongoing commitment to "disrupting drug trafficking activity within the community and holding those responsible accountable."
