Toronto Man Charged in Rexdale Murder; Suspect Arrested

A 30-year-old Toronto man has been charged with second-degree murder following a fatal shooting in Rexdale on Sunday evening. The victim, identified as Anthony Taylor, 28, was found with a gunshot wound at an apartment building near Queen's Plate Drive and Rexdale Boulevard, east of Woodbine Racetrack. Police responded to the scene at approximately 8 p.m. and attempted life-saving measures, but Taylor was pronounced dead. This marks Toronto's 12th homicide of 2026.

Mississauga Stabbing Leads to Arrest

In a separate incident, a 28-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with a fatal stabbing in Mississauga last month. Peel Regional Police responded to a stabbing call on May 19 at 12:15 p.m. near Hurontario and Agnes Streets. The victim, Chay Wilson, 32, of Mississauga, was pronounced dead at the scene. An altercation in a nearby parking lot preceded the stabbing.

Jerome Edwards, who has no fixed address, was arrested on Friday in the area of The Queensway and Kipling Avenue in Etobicoke. He faces first-degree murder charges.
