Clarington Man Accused of Antisemitic Death Threats
A 58-year-old resident of Clarington has been released on an undertaking following accusations of making multiple antisemitic death threats online. Durham Regional Police announced on Tuesday that their East Division criminal investigations branch, in collaboration with the hate crime and extremism unit, initiated an inquiry after receiving a tip from Vancouver Police in May.
Investigation and Arrest
Authorities allege that the suspect posted numerous threats on the social media platform X. On Tuesday, officers executed a search warrant at a residence in Clarington, taking the individual into custody without incident. David Edward Smith has been charged with uttering death threats.

Assault at TTC Station
In a separate incident, Toronto Police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying a woman involved in an assault at Main Street Station. The alleged attack occurred on Thursday at approximately 5 p.m. in the Danforth Avenue and Main Street area.
According to police, the suspect, who was walking with a toddler, allegedly assaulted another woman inside an elevator at the TTC station. The victim sustained minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. The suspect is described as being between 30 and 40 years old, approximately six feet tall, and was last seen wearing a grey sweater, a black top, black shorts, and a bonnet bandana. She was also carrying a green and red reusable bag.

Stabbing in Oshawa
Durham Regional Police are also investigating a stabbing that occurred on Saturday in Oshawa. Officers responded to a call in the Simcoe Street North and Bond Street area at approximately 5 a.m., where they discovered a male victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victim was transported to a trauma centre with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Armed Robbery in Bowmanville
Durham Regional Police are seeking tips to identify a suspect involved in an armed robbery at a Circle K convenience store on Mearns Avenue in Bowmanville. The incident occurred on Monday at approximately 2:15 a.m., when a male suspect demanded cash from the register while threatening an employee with a knife. The suspect fled before police arrived, and no injuries were reported.
