Police in Longueuil have launched a major investigation after the body of a young man was discovered early Sunday morning in a commercial parking lot. Authorities are treating the death as suspicious.

Discovery in a Bank Parking Lot

The grim discovery was made in the parking area behind a TD Bank branch on Roland-Therrien Boulevard. The victim, a 21-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was subsequently transported to a local hospital for further examination.

According to spokesperson Jacqueline Pierre of the Service de police de l’agglomération de Longueuil (SPAL), the force had been engaged in a search for the individual. "Overnight from Saturday to Sunday, the force was asked by the Blainville police department to assist in locating an individual reported missing," Pierre stated. "After several steps and verifications, the lifeless body of the victim was located in the parking lot."

Major Crimes Unit Takes Over Investigation

The case has been elevated due to its suspicious nature. The major crimes division and the forensic identification section of the Longueuil police are now leading the probe. This indicates investigators are exploring the possibility of foul play in the young man's death.
