RCMP Seeks Two Vehicles After Fatal Crash Near Balmoral

The New Brunswick RCMP Major Crime Unit is investigating a fatal crash that occurred late Monday night near Balmoral, N.B., and is asking for the public's help to locate two vehicles believed to be involved.

Crash Details

On Monday, June 25, 2026, at approximately 11:30 p.m., police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Route 275 in Balmoral, about 10 kilometres west of Campbellton. The driver, a 34-year-old man from the local area, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

Investigators believe the crash may have been preceded by an interaction between the victim's vehicle and two other vehicles. The Major Crime Unit is treating the incident as suspicious and is seeking any information about the vehicles involved.

Vehicles Sought

Police are looking for a dark-coloured pickup truck and a white sedan, both of which were seen in the area around the time of the crash. The pickup truck is described as possibly a Ford F-150 or similar model, with an unknown licence plate. The sedan is described as a four-door vehicle, possibly a Toyota Corolla or Honda Civic, also with an unknown plate.

“We are asking anyone who may have been travelling on Route 275 between 11 p.m. and midnight on Monday, or who may have dashcam footage from that time, to contact us,” said Cpl. Hans Ouellet of the New Brunswick RCMP. “Even the smallest detail could be crucial to our investigation.”

Investigation Ongoing

The Major Crime Unit has taken over the investigation due to the suspicious nature of the crash. Forensic collision reconstructionists are on scene, and the road was closed for several hours for investigation. It reopened early Tuesday morning.
