Two Saskatchewan RCMP officers are in stable condition after being seriously injured in a shooting in Melville, according to police. A suspect has been arrested, and authorities say there is no further threat to public safety.

The shooting occurred on June 22, 2026, in the town of Melville, located approximately 145 kilometers east of Regina. RCMP responded to a call and encountered a suspect, leading to an exchange of gunfire. Both officers sustained serious injuries but were quickly transported to hospital.
“Our officers are receiving medical care and are in stable condition,” said Saskatchewan RCMP in a statement. “We are grateful for the swift response of emergency services.”
Suspect Arrested
