Deadly Attack at Key West Bank Junction
A violent terror attack unfolded at the Gush Etzion Junction in Judea on Tuesday afternoon, resulting in one person killed and three others wounded. According to emergency medical services on the scene, the assault was a combined vehicle ramming and stabbing incident.
Chaos and Emergency Response
Magen David Adom medics and paramedics, working alongside an Israel Defense Forces medical team, pronounced a man, approximately 30 years old, dead at the scene from stab wounds. The three additional victims were quickly evacuated to hospitals in Jerusalem for urgent care.
A spokesperson for Magen David Adom provided details on the wounded, who include a woman around 40 years old in serious condition, a man approximately 30, and a 15-year-old boy in moderate condition. All three were reported to have sustained penetrating wounds.
United Hatzalah emergency medical responders were among the first to arrive. EMT Eitan Saar described the chaotic moments, stating, "I was near the scene and heard gunfire. Unfortunately, the death of a man about 40 years old was confirmed. I also provided medical assistance to a woman around 40 in serious condition, to a man around 30, and to a 15-year-old boy who were moderately and mildly-to-moderately injured."
Security Forces Neutralize Threat
The Israel Defense Forces confirmed the attack and reported that soldiers eliminated two terrorists at the scene. In a significant development, the military disclosed that several explosive materials were discovered in the vehicle used by the terrorists. Police bomb disposal specialists were called in to neutralize the dangerous explosives.
Following the attack, a major security operation was launched. Soldiers established roadblocks and conducted extensive searches while encircling the area. The National Fire & Rescue Authority confirmed that Route 60 at the Gush Etzion Junction was closed to traffic due to the security incident. Large forces remained deployed at the scene as the investigation continued.
Gush Etzion is a major crossroads in Judea and Samaria, located south of Jerusalem and Bethlehem. The area has been the scene of numerous previous terrorist attacks, including an incident in September that wounded two Israeli teens. This latest attack underscores the ongoing security challenges in the region.
