The festive season in Prince George, British Columbia, has received a welcome boost with the grand reopening of a local dining favourite. The Rockford Bar & Grill has officially unveiled its newly revitalized location, inviting the community back to experience a significant transformation just in time for the holidays.
A Complete Transformation for a Northern BC Staple
Located at 2990 Recreation Avenue, next to the Sandman Signature Hotel near the intersection of Highways 16 and 97, the restaurant has undergone extensive upgrades. The month-long renovation project has reshaped the 2,500-square-foot space, which can now accommodate 134 guests.
The redesign focuses on creating a warm and elevated casual dining atmosphere. Key changes include a refreshed colour scheme, modern lighting fixtures, and the incorporation of natural wood elements throughout the open floor plan. New artwork adds creative touches, aiming to foster a relaxed and connected dining experience for all visitors.
An Expanded Culinary and Beverage Experience
Beyond the physical changes, the Rockford Bar & Grill has comprehensively updated its food and drink offerings. The menu now features 15 brand-new dishes, including several revamped breakfast options. The beverage program has also seen a major expansion.
Patrons can now choose from eight new beers on tap, a diverse wine list, and a refreshed selection of cocktails and mocktails. The restaurant remains committed to offering one of the best happy hours in town, which will run from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, seven days a week.

General Manager Kristopher Lopez-Pineda expressed excitement about reopening the doors. "Our recently renovated Prince George location will offer a better dining experience than ever before," he said. "Locals and visitors will be able to join us for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or even a late-night treat! Everyone is welcome to stop by and experience a new, inviting atmosphere, completed by our updated food and beverage offerings."
First opened in 2011, this renovation marks a new chapter for the establishment, which is part of the Northland Properties restaurant group. The updated concept blends comfort with elevated global flavours.
The restaurant's new operating hours are 6:15 am to 10:00 pm from Monday to Friday, and 8:00 am to 10:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday. The team looks forward to re-establishing itself as an active part of the close-knit Prince George community, serving as a destination for outstanding food and drinks at any time of day.
