Woman Critical After Struck by Vehicle on Ouellette Ave

A 40-year-old woman remains in critical condition after being struck by a motor vehicle while crossing Ouellette Avenue early Sunday morning.

Incident Details

Windsor police responded to a report of a vehicle collision at approximately 2:30 a.m. in the 1100 block of Ouellette Avenue. Preliminary investigation indicates that the woman was crossing the street mid-block when she was hit by an oncoming vehicle.

Following the collision, the driver exited his vehicle and was assaulted by a man who had been accompanying the pedestrian, according to police.

Injuries and Hospitalization

The pedestrian was transported to the hospital, where she remains in critical condition. The driver was also treated for non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released.

Road Closure and Investigation

Ouellette Avenue remains closed in both directions between Giles Boulevard and Pine Street as members of the Windsor Police Service Traffic Reconstruction Unit conduct their investigation. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
