Toronto authorities continue the search for a missing person after two individuals went into the water when their inflatable boat capsized near Cherry Beach on Wednesday afternoon.
Rescue Operation Underway
Emergency crews responded to the scene around 2:30 p.m. after reports of a capsized inflatable boat. One person and a dog were rescued and brought to shore safely. However, a second person remains unaccounted for, prompting an ongoing search by marine units and the Toronto Police Service.
Police have not released the identities of those involved, but confirmed that the rescued individual was taken to hospital for precautionary checks. The dog was unharmed.
Search Efforts Continue
Search teams are using boats and helicopters to scour the waters near Cherry Beach, located in the city's east end. Conditions at the time included moderate winds and choppy waves, which may have contributed to the incident.
