Stranger Things 5 & Beatles Anthology Top Weekly Watch List

Get ready to update your watch list, Canada. This week brings a blockbuster finale and a legendary documentary series to streaming platforms, headlining a diverse slate of new entertainment options.

Streaming Giants Deliver Major Releases

The most anticipated release of the week is undoubtedly Stranger Things 5, Volume 1, which begins its final chapter on Wednesday, November 23, 2025, exclusively on Netflix. The beloved series sees our teenage heroes united by a single, dangerous goal: to find and kill the otherworldly Vecna. Creators Matt and Ross Duffer have confirmed the series is taking a darker turn as its young cast matures. "It felt necessary because the core group of kids aren't kids anymore," Matt Duffer told Postmedia.

Also arriving on Wednesday is the expansive nine-part docuseries, The Beatles Anthology, streaming on Disney+. This series offers an intimate look at the band's eight-year journey, with John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr revisiting the incredible highs and challenging lows that defined their career. New episodes will also debut on Thursday and Friday.

More Must-See Movies and Series

Prime Video adds a major film to its catalog with After the Hunt, starring Julia Roberts and Andrew Garfield. The plot follows a college professor (Roberts) whose life is upended when a star student (Ayo Edebiri) levels an accusation against a colleague (Garfield), threatening to expose a dark secret from her own past. The film is available for streaming now.

Fans of suspense can tune in for a new episode of Tracker on Sunday on CBS and Monday on CTV. The episode finds Colter (Justin Hartley) investigating the disappearance of a crime scene cleaner whose obsession with true crime may have led her into danger.

Festive Films and Holiday Specials

With the holiday season approaching, several festive titles are set to premiere. Netflix offers Jingle Bell Heist on Wednesday, a film about two small-time thieves who fall for each other while planning to rob a London department store on Christmas Eve, starring Olivia Holt and Connor Swindells.

For those who prefer their holiday movies on the heartfelt side, W Network has two offerings. Melt My Heart This Christmas airs on Sunday, featuring Laura Vandervoort and Stephen Huszar as exes who rediscover their spark during a hometown reunion. On Saturday, A Grand Ole Opry Christmas stars Nikki DeLoach and Kristoffer Polaha in a story about second chances at love and songwriting in Nashville.

Other notable releases include the second season of Is It Cake? Holiday on Netflix, the debut of Come Dine with Me Canada on Food Network, and the docuseries Prehistoric Planet: Ice Age, narrated by Tom Hiddleston, on Apple TV+.
