A routine workday turned into a life-threatening emergency in St. Albert on Tuesday when a landscaping worker became pinned between vehicles in a serious workplace collision.

The incident occurred around 2:30 PM near the intersection of Villeneuve Road and St. Albert Trail, where RCMP and emergency services responded to reports of a person trapped between vehicles.

According to Royal Canadian Mounted Police investigators, the landscaper was working near a trailer when the driver of a truck accidentally reversed into him, crushing him against the equipment trailer. The force of the impact left the worker critically injured and unable to free himself.

Emergency Response and Rescue

Multiple emergency units rushed to the scene, where first faces encountered a complex extraction situation. "The patient was seriously injured and required careful extrication from between the vehicles," confirmed an RCMP spokesperson.
