York Regional Police are seeking the public's help to locate Duglas Rodriguez, a 49-year-old man from Richmond Hill, who is wanted in connection with a series of alleged vehicle sale scams that specifically targeted newcomers to Canada.
According to investigators, Rodriguez is accused of advertising vehicles for sale online and then defrauding buyers who responded to the ads. The scams are believed to have targeted individuals who were new to the country and unfamiliar with local purchasing practices.
Police have issued a warrant for Rodriguez's arrest on charges including fraud over $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime. They believe there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward.
Anyone with information about Rodriguez's whereabouts is urged to contact York Regional Police or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
