Man Rams Into Ex-Partner's Home, Throws Stone at Police

A Kitchener man is facing multiple charges after allegedly ramming his vehicle into his former partner's home in Hanover and then throwing a stone at a police officer.

Incident Details

Hanover police responded to a disturbance call late Monday evening at a residence on 10th Avenue. Upon arrival, officers observed a vehicle that had crashed into the front of the home, causing significant damage to the structure.

The suspect, identified as 34-year-old Michael Turner of Kitchener, allegedly fled the scene on foot but was located nearby a short time later. When police attempted to apprehend him, Turner reportedly picked up a stone and threw it at an officer, narrowly missing his head.

Charges Laid

Turner has been charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Mischief over $5,000
  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
  • Fail to remain at the scene of an accident

He was held in custody pending a bail hearing. The former partner and her children, who were inside the home at the time of the crash, were not physically injured but were shaken by the incident.
