Tim Hortons has launched its annual Smile Cookie Week, a beloved fundraising campaign that will run until May 3, 2026. During this period, every smile cookie purchased at participating locations across Canada will directly support local charities, hospitals, and community organizations.
A Sweet Tradition of Giving
Now in its 30th year, Smile Cookie Week has raised over $100 million for Canadian communities since its inception. Each cookie, decorated with a smiling face, costs $1.50 plus tax, with all proceeds remaining in the community where the cookie is sold.
“Our guests look forward to this campaign every year, knowing their purchase makes a tangible difference in their neighbourhoods,” said a Tim Hortons spokesperson. “From supporting youth sports teams to funding hospital equipment, the impact is truly heartwarming.”
How It Works
Participating Tim Hortons restaurants choose which local organizations will benefit from the cookie sales. Customers can purchase cookies individually or by the dozen, and many locations offer pre-order options for bulk purchases.
Last year, the campaign raised more than $15 million nationally, funding everything from food banks to mental health programs. This year, organizers hope to surpass that total as communities continue to recover from economic pressures.
Community Response
Local charities are already expressing gratitude for the initiative. “The funds from Smile Cookie Week allow us to provide essential services to families in need,” said a representative from a Toronto-area food bank. “Every cookie sold brings a smile to both the buyer and those we serve.”
Tim Hortons also encourages customers to share their cookie purchases on social media using the hashtag #SmileCookie, spreading joy beyond the store.
With the campaign running through May 3, Canadians have just over a week to participate in this sweet tradition of giving. Visit your nearest Tim Hortons to grab a smile cookie and support local causes.
