Police Seize $140K in Crack Cocaine in Kasabonika Lake

Police in Kasabonika Lake First Nation have seized approximately $140,000 worth of crack cocaine following a search of a residence. The Nishnawbe Aski Police Service (NAPS) executed a search warrant at a home on the remote First Nation, located about 500 kilometres north of Thunder Bay, Ont., on Friday.

Details of the Seizure

During the search, officers discovered suspected crack cocaine, a significant amount of cash, and various items consistent with drug trafficking, including scales and packaging materials. The street value of the drugs is estimated at $140,000, according to police.

Charges Laid

A 30-year-old man from Kasabonika Lake First Nation has been arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime, and breach of a release order. He is scheduled to appear in court in Sioux Lookout at a later date.
