The Saskatoon Valkyries maintained their perfect start to the season with a hard-fought 7-0 victory over the Manitoba Fearless in Western Women's Canadian Football League action on Sunday. The win lifts the Valkyries to 2-0, placing them alone at the top of the Prairie Conference standings.

The game's only touchdown came in the fourth quarter when Teagan Craig broke free for a 56-yard rushing score. Kaylin O'Neill added the convert to seal the win. Craig finished with five carries for 68 yards, while Drew Lindquist contributed 47 yards on 22 carries. The Valkyries amassed 113 rushing yards as a team, but were outgained by the Fearless, who recorded 224 yards on the ground. Cassidy Turski led Manitoba with 19 carries for 141 yards.
Quarterback Julia Smith completed seven of 15 passes for 53 yards, with Rachelle Smith catching six of those for 52 yards.

Mamba Still Seeking First Win
The Saskatoon Mamba have started their 2026 Canadian Elite Basketball League season with three consecutive losses. In their home opener on Thursday, they fell 124-95 to the Vancouver Bandits, being outscored by at least 10 points in each of the first three quarters. Vancouver's Jaelen House led all scorers with 33 points, while Dajuan Gordon topped Saskatoon with 20.
On Saturday, the Mamba lost 108-96 to the Winnipeg Sea Bears, again trailing after three quarters. Captain Tavian Dunn-Martin scored 30 points to lead all players. On Tuesday, they dropped a 93-80 decision to the Montreal Alliance despite 27 points from Dunn-Martin. Saskatoon will visit the Scarborough Shooting Stars on Thursday before returning home to host the Sea Bears on May 29.
Flin Flon Bombers at Centennial Cup
The Flin Flon Bombers, representing the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League at the Centennial Cup Junior A hockey championship, rebounded from two opening losses with a pair of wins. On Monday, Rhett Ewen scored twice, and Leo Seitz, Connor Miller, Reid Arberry, and Landon Alexander each added goals in a 6-4 victory over the Greater Sudbury Cubs. On Wednesday, the Bombers defeated the Truro Bearcats 3-1, with goals from Ryder Knutson, Daniel Morozov, and Arberry.
