Two men have been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the fatal shooting of Bryan Lara-Alvarez in Mississauga in March 2023, Peel Regional Police announced.

The suspects, whose identities have not been released, were arrested and charged following an investigation by the Peel Regional Police Homicide Bureau. The shooting occurred on Monday, March 20, 2023, in the area of Hurontario Street and Burnhamthorpe Road West in Mississauga. Police responded to reports of gunfire and found Lara-Alvarez suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to police, the investigation involved forensic analysis, witness interviews, and review of surveillance footage. The two men were taken into custody without incident earlier this week. They appeared in court and are being held without bail pending a future hearing.
