RCMP are searching for two men following a home invasion in northern Alberta. The suspects, identified as Leighton Haineault and Jeremy Lacorde, are considered armed and dangerous.
Suspects at Large
Police say the home invasion occurred on July 9, 2026, in a rural area near the town of High Level. Officers responded to a report of a break-in at a residence around 2 a.m. The homeowners were present but not physically injured, according to RCMP.
Leighton Haineault, 32, and Jeremy Lacorde, 29, are both wanted on multiple charges including break and enter, robbery, and possession of a weapon. RCMP believe the suspects may have fled the area in a stolen vehicle.
Public Assistance Sought
RCMP are asking anyone with information to contact their local police or Crime Stoppers. The suspects are described as follows: Haineault is 5'10" with a medium build and short brown hair; Lacorde is 6'0" with a slim build and black hair. Both were last seen wearing dark clothing.
Authorities urge the public not to approach the suspects, as they may be armed. The investigation is ongoing, with additional officers deployed to the region.
