Former President Donald Trump marked Christmas Day with a lengthy and combative social media post, directing holiday grievances towards associates of the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The rant, published on his Truth Social platform, sought to distance Trump from Epstein while accusing others of hypocrisy.
A Festive Message Laced with Accusations
Trump's post, dated Thursday, December 25, began with a sarcastic seasonal greeting. "Merry Christmas to all, including the many Sleazebags who loved Jeffrey Epstein," he wrote. He accused these individuals of giving Epstein money, visiting his private island, and attending his parties, only to abandon him "like a dog" when scrutiny intensified.
The former president positioned himself as the lone figure who cut ties with the financier early. "President Donald J. Trump... was actually the only one who did drop Epstein, and long before it became fashionable to do so," he claimed. He further alleged that when names are revealed in what he called the "ongoing Radical Left Witch Hunt," they would be linked to Democrats.
Context: Mounting Scrutiny and Document Dumps
This Christmas Day outburst follows a pattern of online activity from Trump, who spent Christmas Eve attacking "Radical Left Scum." It also comes as the Justice Department faces continued questions over its handling of files related to Epstein.
Newly released documents have complicated Trump's narrative of early and total disassociation. Records show Trump's name appears hundreds of times in the Epstein files. He was known to socialize with Epstein at his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida. Furthermore, a recent document dump includes a federal prosecutor's claim that Trump flew on Epstein's private jet "many more times than previously has been reported."
On Monday, prior to his Christmas posts, Trump dismissed the release of these files as a political tactic meant to "deflect from the tremendous success that the Republican Party has."
Broadening the Attack to Media
Trump's holiday remarks extended beyond Epstein's circle to target The New York Times. He referenced the newspaper's past election coverage, which he called "highly inaccurate (FAKE!)," and suggested its reporting on the Epstein files would now damage "so many of their friends."
He concluded his series of posts with a menacing holiday sign-off: "Enjoy what may be your last Merry Christmas! President Donald J. Trump." This mirrored a sentiment he expressed in a separate post captured by commentator Aaron Rupar on December 25, 2025.
The Christmas Day rant underscores Trump's strategy of aggressively confronting legal and media scrutiny head-on, using his platform to shape the narrative around his past associations as official documents continue to surface.
