Lake Shore Blvd Closed in Etobicoke After Rollover

Lake Shore Boulevard in Etobicoke is closed in both directions following a single-vehicle rollover crash early Friday morning. Toronto police reported the incident just after 7 a.m. near the intersection of Lake Shore Boulevard West and Park Lawn Road.

Emergency Response and Road Closures

Emergency crews, including paramedics and fire services, responded to the scene. The driver was extricated from the overturned vehicle and transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to paramedics. The cause of the rollover is under investigation by Toronto police’s traffic services.

The closure extends from Park Lawn Road to Kipling Avenue, with police directing traffic. Commuters are advised to use alternative routes, such as The Queensway or Gardiner Expressway. The Toronto Transit Commission has rerouted several bus lines, including the 44 Kipling South and 501 Queen streetcar, due to the closure.

Impact on Morning Commute

The closure is expected to cause significant delays during the morning rush hour. Police estimate the road will remain closed for several hours as investigators reconstruct the scene and crews clear the wreckage. Motorists are urged to avoid the area and allow extra travel time.

“We are asking everyone to avoid Lake Shore Boulevard between Park Lawn and Kipling until further notice,” said Toronto police Constable Shannon Martin. “Crews are working to clear the scene and investigate the cause of this collision.”

Ongoing Investigation

Toronto police’s traffic reconstruction team is on site to determine factors leading to the rollover. No other vehicles were involved. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
