Peel Regional Police are investigating a four-vehicle collision that closed Steeles Avenue at Highway 410 in Brampton early Saturday morning. The crash occurred around 5:30 a.m. on June 28, 2026, and resulted in the closure of all eastbound and westbound lanes of Steeles Avenue between Highway 410 and Dixie Road.
Details of the Collision
Police say multiple vehicles were involved in the collision, but no serious injuries have been reported. Emergency crews responded to the scene and are working to clear the wreckage. The cause of the crash is under investigation, and officers are asking anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
“We are asking drivers to avoid the area and seek alternate routes,” said Peel Regional Police Constable Sarah Brown. “The investigation is in its early stages, and we are working to determine the circumstances that led to this collision.”
Traffic Disruptions
The closure has caused significant traffic delays in the area, with vehicles being diverted onto side streets. Commuters are advised to use Highway 407 or Bovaird Drive as alternatives. The closure is expected to last several hours as investigators document the scene and tow trucks remove the damaged vehicles.
Steeles Avenue is a major east-west thoroughfare in Brampton, and the closure has impacted morning traffic. Peel Police have deployed officers to manage the flow and assist with detours.
Ongoing Investigation
Police have not released details about the drivers involved or the types of vehicles. No charges have been laid at this time. The investigation is ongoing, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
