A Brantford woman has been charged following a crash that sent a vehicle onto a pedestrian trail in Waterloo, according to Waterloo Regional Police. The incident occurred on July 9, 2026, and left one person injured.
Details of the Incident
Police responded to reports of a single-vehicle collision that had veered off the roadway and onto a multi-use trail near the intersection of University Avenue West and Bridge Street. The driver, a 34-year-old woman from Brantford, was taken into custody at the scene. One pedestrian on the trail sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Charges Laid
The accused faces charges including dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm and failure to remain at the scene of a collision. She is scheduled to appear in court in Kitchener on July 20, 2026. Police have not released her name pending the court appearance.
