Home Invasion in Northern Alberta Prompts RCMP Manhunt

Wood Buffalo RCMP are actively searching for two suspects involved in a home invasion that occurred early on July 9 at a residence in Gregoire Lake Reserve, south of Fort McMurray. The suspects, identified as 35-year-old Jeremy Lacorde and Leighton Haineault, both from Fort McMurray, are considered armed and dangerous. Police have warned the public not to approach them.

Details of the Incident

According to an RCMP release, two armed men entered the home, assaulted the victim at gunpoint, and demanded the victim's phone and money. The suspects then fled the scene on a black side-by-side vehicle. The victim did not sustain any physical injuries, Mounties said.

An extensive search of the area failed to locate the two men. However, a subsequent investigation by the Wood Buffalo RCMP identified Lacorde and Haineault as the suspects.
