The Polaris Music Prize has announced its 10-album short list for 2027, featuring Toronto singer-songwriter Charlotte Cornfield, Halifax R&B and soul artist Aquakultre, and Quebec microtonal rockers Angine de Poitrine. The list was revealed on July 9, 2027.
Diverse range of artists and genres
Charlotte Cornfield is known for her introspective folk-rock style. Aquakultre, whose real name is Lance Sampson, blends R&B with soul and hip-hop influences. Angine de Poitrine pushes musical boundaries with microtonal rock, a style that uses intervals smaller than a semitone.
