The Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of British Columbia (CFSEU-BC) has laid additional drug and firearms charges against two men previously accused in a murder plot in the province. The announcement was made on July 9, 2026, marking a significant expansion of the case.
Details of the New Charges
The CFSEU-BC, which investigates gangs and organized crime, stated that the new charges include possession of controlled substances for the purpose of trafficking and multiple firearms offenses. The accused men, whose names have not been released due to publication bans, were already facing charges related to an alleged murder conspiracy in B.C.
According to the CFSEU, the additional charges stem from evidence gathered during the initial investigation into the murder plot. Investigators seized a quantity of illegal drugs, including fentanyl and cocaine, along with several firearms, including a loaded handgun and a rifle. The estimated street value of the drugs is approximately $250,000.
Impact on the Case
“These new charges demonstrate the serious nature of organized crime activities in our province,” said a CFSEU spokesperson. “We are committed to disrupting and dismantling these networks to ensure public safety.” The accused remain in custody and are scheduled to appear in court later this month. Their next hearing will address both the original murder plot charges and the new drug and firearms counts.
The case has drawn attention due to its links to gang violence in B.C., which has seen a surge in recent years. The CFSEU continues to investigate, and further charges may be laid as the probe progresses.
