Health Canada is advising consumers to stop using two models of Rowenta cordless vacuum cleaners immediately due to fire and burn hazards linked to recalled lithium-ion batteries. The recall notice, issued July 9, 2026, affects the X-Force Flex 14.60 Animal (model RH99A2U1) and X-Force Flex 15.60 Animal (model RH99F2U1), sold in red, black and silver by Scarborough-based Groupe SEB Canada dba Rowenta Canada.
Battery Overheating and Ignition Risk
The issue involves the vacuums' lithium-ion batteries housed in the handle. Health Canada said the affected batteries can overheat and ignite, posing serious fire and burn injury hazards. The recalled batteries, model ZR0097U2, were manufactured in China and sold between December 2023 and June 2026 either with the vacuums or separately. Their date code begins with 23 or 24.
As of July 2, 2026, the company reported no incidents or injuries in Canada. However, Health Canada emphasized the importance of immediate action. The company stated that 550 units of the affected products were sold in Canada.

Health Canada also reminded consumers to report any health or safety incidents related to this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form.
