Man charged after fatal motorcycle crash in Brantford

A Brantford man has been charged following a fatal motorcycle crash early Wednesday morning that killed one person and sent another to hospital. Brantford Police are asking for witnesses to come forward as the investigation continues.

The collision occurred around 2:30 a.m. on June 27, 2026, at the intersection of Colborne Street and Grand River Avenue. Officers arrived to find a motorcycle and another vehicle involved in a crash. The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger on the motorcycle was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Charges laid after investigation

Following an investigation, police charged a 34-year-old Brantford man with dangerous driving causing death and criminal negligence causing death. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 10, 2026. The accused was driving the other vehicle involved in the crash.

“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased,” said Constable Sarah Thompson of the Brantford Police Service. “We urge anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage to contact us immediately.”

Police seek witnesses and dashcam footage

Investigators are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who was in the area between 2:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. on Wednesday. They believe there may be additional witnesses who have not yet come forward.
